I created two posters as part of a performance called Brazilian Myths. I chose to digitally illustrate one of the myths called Uirapuru. Uirapuru is a giant bird that is a Forrest spirit. She is also said to have a song that will attract all the birds in the Forrest. I decided to use a raw, sketch based style as the myths are only described by drawings and word of mouth. I used colors that related to the country that the myth is from. I chose to leave the bird black and white, so that it appears as a ghost. I did this as a way to imply that the bird is not real.
